Youth Cricket

At Solihull Municipal we are proud of our fantastic youth cricket section which is growing each year.

We welcome young cricketers of all abilities to our youth section, from those who have never held a cricket bat before through to cricketers who have aspirations to play at county level.

Our youth cricket coaching starts from an early age, children from 5 to 8 years can take part in our ECB All Stars Cricket coaching sessions.
Children from 8 (or younger children who are confident with a bat and ball) can join our Muni Youth Coaching sessions, which last from early spring through to the end of the summer.

We enter youth teams in the Warwickshire Youth Cricket League at Under 11, 12, 13 and 15 ages and also arrange friendly games with other teams at all ages from 9 onwards. The aim is to give all our young cricketers plenty of chances to enjoy playing competitive cricket in a friendly environment.
Once our cricketers reach 13 they can have the opportunity to join in with our Senior Midweek and Sunday teams (with parents permission). This allows them to experience the next level of cricket while being mentored by our senior players in those teams.

#TopCoaches #Safeguarding

All our coaches are DBS checked, hold ECB Coaching Badges and are fully trained in emergency first aid.
Many of our coaches play for the 1st XI and have come through the youth section so are able to pass on their knowledge and experience of the game.
Solihull Municipal maintained the ECB Clubmark accreditation for 2019. This is a recognised governing body award which signals that Solihull Municipal continue to maintain the highest standards in Safety and Safeguarding children.

All our training sessions take place at our club ground at Brick Kiln Lane, Solihull, where we have both grass and artificial pitches, fixed artificial nets plus portable nets … plus enough equipment to fill a large garage !

The Solihull Sports and Social Club is located at the cricket ground and has drinks and food available for those of you who need refreshments while watching the future Joe Roots on the pitch !

The cost to join our youth cricket section is as follows:

All Stars – £40
These sessions will be on Friday evenings from 5:30 to 6:30 pm and start on 10th May 2019 and run until 28th June.
